Thank you so much I love them!!

Thank you so much I love them!!
#elderjaros love them

I got to ride a bus again!
2013 is almost over!! Such a life changing year for me! Soo many wonderful thing happened to me this year, and to my family! Sometimes I can't even believe everything that happen last year! Taking state again, Gradulating from high school, going through the temple, and serving the lord! I also got an awesome new sister law this year! Heavenly Father really blessed me this year, and I'm so grateful for such an amazing year! Thank you everyone for the Christmas presents you all spoiled me so much!! You all are so awesome, and I wish I could repay you all for everything! But thank you all! It was awesome to hear some of your voices! It was the best Christmas present I could ask for! And I can't believe how much Sage talks now!!! Last week was a long week but a good one. We have one new investigator. The only issue is that he is living with his girlfriend.. so that's a problem. His girl friend isn't super interested, but maybe they will get married or something! Pray for them! We are also trying to find new people, and find some less actives to work with! We have a few but I want to get some more, because I really like less active work! This week won't have much missionary work because today is p day and tomorrow we have to be in at 6 for safety, and on Wednesday we have another P day but that one is an all day p day.. So we don't get to work too much this week! We are going to Madison on Wednesday with our zone which will be fun! Just not a normal week! So crazy that 2013 is gone and now were almost to 2014! Thank you again for everything! I wish you all an amazing New Year! And I hope you all are safe this week! Love ya Elder Jaros

Dilly beans!!! Thanks so much Grandma!!
Christmas!! Thanks Everyone!!
My Mission friends!! Love em
I live next to this air port so I feel like I'm on Wayne's world watching the air planes fly over me and I scream! haha
Holy cow can you believe that Christmas is this week!!?? I can't. Where does the time go.. I have no idea! But I would like to thank you all for the cards and packages! I really am feeling your love from Utah which is so awesome! Transfers went great! It was a good meeting to talk to missionaries and the friend I have made out here! The new area is different.. But it will be good! The members don't really trust the missionaries here because of disobedient by other companionship.. but me and the new sisters are doing work so it will be all good! The ward mission leader is warming up to us so that is the first part! They just want hard workers and that's what we are going to do! But the District leading is awesome!! I have a district of all sisters.. but they work so hard, and they set the example for me so it's pretty awesome! We are a super young district with none of us being over a year out yet! My comp name is Elder Threet he's nice! But the new area is cool because Lebanon is aka the Cedar City and there are cedar trees EVERYWHERE!  So it's like being home, but just with out the wind! But the town has a few dog food plants so it smells awesome.. not really. Probably the best part of this area is the fact that the people are HUMBLE here which is awesome!! They want to talk about Christ, so that's a huge blessing right there!! But with Christmas time being here let us not forget the real meaning, and let us not forget about the atonement and everything Christ has done for us. I just wanted to wish you all an MERRY CHRISTMAS! And I pray for all of your safety and welling being. Love ya  Elder J-rose

Thank you so much Keely! I love it!

Baptism

Saying bye to my boys!
Where is the time going... I have no clue! Transfer #3 is gone now! Well this week we had Christmas Zone Conference! It was a fun meeting! We had gift exchanges and a good meal and some good trainings about coming closer to Christ and being more obedient! It was good day over all! Me and Sister Jensen hung out and talked about good old C City! Elder Golightly and I took the scenic road there and was pretty cool seeing a lot of Tennessee in our 2 hour drive there! We also moved into our new apartment Thursday and Friday of this week! It took a lot!! Our new apartment is pretty nice! The sisters are really jealous so there trying to get us to trade haha but It's all up to Elder Golightly! Because I'm getting transferred up to Lebanon about an hour away from here, but a lot closer to Nashville! So I'm getting closer to the big city! But one exciting part of the transferred up there is the fact that I will be a District Leader!! Which is awesome! I'm excited, and nervous.. It's a lot of my plate now but I think I'm ready for it! But the worst part about moving is that I have to unpack all the apartment stuff to repack all my bag to get them to Lebanon tomorrow! But the best part of the week was RJ BAPTISM!!!!! It was an awesome day!! He bore his testimony about us and the spirit after and it was so sweet! I confirmed him a member yesterday at church which was scary, but I got over it.. It was such a great way to end my transfer and my time here in Cookeville. I'm sad to leave here and Elder Golightly but the future is bright I hope! Yesterday at church a return missionary back to our ward quote this from the Grinch and I wanted to share it: “And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”   And Christmas does mean a lot more! It's the birth of our beloved Savior! It's sad to me that it took me 18 years to really realize what Christmas is really about maybe I took this mission I don't really know, but this Christmas I challenge all of you to remember our savior a little more, and try a little harder to be like him. Thank you for all the love and support. I feel it a lot during this Christmas time. I love you all so much. Elder Tyler Jaros

Me riding in my dreams down Giant Steps.
We make pies sometimes.
So this member in my ward gave me a brand you snowboard. Pretty RAD.
This week was so crazy it's unreal!! Lots of stress but a great week! So it was me and Elder Golightly turn for exchanges with our District Leader Elder Andersen so Elder G went up to Monterey and I stayed here. The exchange was from Monday to Wednesday so I had to plan good visits for me and my district leader to visit which wasn't to hard. Just a little stressful, but than I got a text from the zone leaders and they asked if they could come stay a few nights! So they came and we had to plan stuff for them to do in our area also! So there came a little more stress to plan for them also, but I made it through it! Until Wednesday when Elder G came back, and we were walking to the apartment manager place to deal with moving and crap when the AP's called and asked if they could go on exchanges with us for the next two nights and stay with us so the pressure was really on!! The AP's were coming! So me and Elder G went and planned some good appointments for us to go visit, and it went great! The AP's taught me so much!! They taught us how to plan really good, and all of there ways to talk to people. It was an great experience!! I was with Elder King most of the time, and he is the king of tracting so I learned a lot! Than on Friday we had interviews with the mission president which was great! And Saturday we had our ward party and we had soo many people there! It was a great event! RJ came to church yesterday, and so did his wife!! They also came to the Christmas Dev. last night, and he really like that! So that was great! And if everything goes well his baptism will be this Saturday so we will have our white Christmas! But I'm doing great! Thanks for everything!! Love Elder Ty

Thanks Grandma for the Christmas Tree

Check out my Handstand
4 months down!! December should fly right by!! RJ baptism fell through.. which was sad.. but he is doing okay, and we are still working with him so hopefully soon he will come around!! But besides that set back I we had a good week of service and working hard! We had a nice thanksgiving with visiting lots of families and going to a dinner with the Cote family who is always feeding us! It was nice but it was a quiet day! We visited my boys (Jones)  on thanksgiving they are doing great!! Tershon is sick.. but it was nice to spend time with them on thanksgiving! Sister Weaver came to church again! She is just a special lady, and I'm so grateful to meet her and help her in her life! Hopefully she will continue to stay active here! We are mostly likely moving so send ALL letters and packages to the mission home not my apartment!! But I'm doing great, and this thanksgiving I learned how to be truly grateful for all my family. I love you guys so much. Thanks for everything. Love Elder Tyler James

Jimmy Johns _ I am so happy it opened in Cookeville, TN.

All the leaves we picked up on Tuesday.

Me and Tray

Me and the cool fountain in Cookeville, TN.
This last week was cold but great!! We didn't have the car and it got cold out there this week!! And it's a dry cold that just goes straight to the bones, but we have a car this week which is the first things I grateful for! Another thing I'm grateful for is RJ and his baptism this weekend!! We are pretty excited for him and he is excited, and it's going to a great day!! We spend this week going over everything we have taught him, and getting him ready to enter the covenants of baptism!! We also had a different lesson with the Snow family they are some what investigators we just met a few weeks ago! They are a great family, and they are really faithful people, and we were telling him about the mold, and he was like have you just thanked heavenly father for everything else for a warm place to sleep, and roof over head and he will take care of the mold.. so we took Mr. Snow advice and thanked heavenly father, and we will see what happens, but it was a great lesson about being grateful, and with thanksgiving coming up this week it remind me and Elder Golightly that we need to be more grateful. We also had stake conference this week! It was a great meeting a lot about temple work and missionary work!! So hopefully now we can use our ward better, and hopefully we will figure out to find some more people to teach! But i'm doing great, and with Thanksgiving coming up I would like to thank you all for everything. I couldn't be out here with out you support, and I'm so grateful such a great family back home that supports me. Love Ty

My New Coat, Yo Thanks Bret

The lion I found out tracting.

Me and Elder Golightly

Week 16!! Crazy how fast this seems to be moving along!! It's unreal! But me and Elder G had a good week! We are working hard, and just search for me people to teach!! We have one solid Investigator RJ he came to church again, and he is doing great! We had to move his date back until the 30th because this week is stake conference, but we are excited for him!! We spend lots of time with less actives and getting to know them and such and inviting them to church which is good, but it's hard to visit lots of less actives because they live a long ways away so it's #thestruggle but it's all good!! We had a zone meeting with Elder Pino from the seventy this week!!! He is a really cool and nice guy he came and talk to us all and such! They gave him two hours to train, but he did good job and he talk a lot about how thankful he is to see us out here serving our savior and it was a great talk! We are working on moving out of our mold apartment! haha well hopefully we will!! Because we are sick of having headache so it's time to get out!! But thank you so much for the love and support! You all are the best! Love ya Elder TJ

Elder Golightly - Tyler's New Companion

Tyler and Elder Allen

Tennessee Sunset

First Snow in Tennessee
Week 15 Yo! What a great week!! I got my new comp Elder Golightly he is way cool! We get along great, and it's just so nice to have someone new to talk to!!! He reminds me of a lot of Chase!! Which is cool. Last week had the best numbers of my mission also!!! We had 3 investigators at church!!! Which is a record for me!! We had RJ there which was awesome!! He loved church and he stayed for all 3 hours! And then we had a mother and daughter we have been working with for a while there which was awesome!! Plus we had sister weaver there our less active we are trying to reactivated and it was just great sunday!! And it also was the primary program!! And my boys the Jones boys were there and they did great!! I was so proud of them!! Besides the fact the one wouldn't stand up and sing the songs haha but they are the best kids even though I have to baby sit them a lot! We also have a family move here from Utah who are less active so that is funny to be around people from home!! And Elder G says I sleep talk a lot... And I finally got to drive a car again!! I'm doing much better now and #missionlife is fun again with my new comp! We have a little mold problem with help from my mom it's being taking care of haha, but besides that I'm doing great! #loveya #elderjaros #November #happybirthdayKAYLA

Me ( I lost my tan) but I'm super white and Holy haha
The country side
The BOM is my bff
This week was long!!! Probably because of transfers and the stress of wait for the phone call of what is going to happen to you!! But the phone call came and I'm staying here in Cookeville in the Burgess Falls ward, and I'm getting a new comp. named Elder Golightly!! We both came out here together, but I don't really know him! But we both just came out of training so two greenys will be running the area!! Which is cool, because it shows that the lord trust us to take care of this ward!! The only side effect with staying here is the fact that this area is pretty dead. Like we have one solid investigator, but he didn't come to church which was sad. Actually we didn't have anyone at church yesterday. Which was rough. So I guess me and my new comp have lots of work to do!! Which will be good! I'm excited for this transfers, and nervous, but I know that the lord will help me with all things our there. I also think that in this next transfer I will learn lots about myself which will be good. I went to the river church yesterday aka the Duck Dynasty church, and it was pretty rad!! Phil from the show has a little preaching thing he does and sends it to these churches and they show it for church!! It's called the happy happy happy series!! It was pretty funny!! There church had a band and lots of people there!! Lots more than my ward out here so I have work to do haha. But i'm doing good!! I hope everyone else is too! Also I ALWAYS reply to every ones letters, but I think the postal system steals them, and I'm sorry!! But I love mail, and I always reply, but I guess sometimes it gets lost. Which is no good.
Love Ty

Went caving on P-Day

Caving pictures - With Sister Bauer
Its the last week of transfers!! Which is nice!! My training is almost over, and I don't feel trained really, but it's okay! I'll figure it all out soon enough!! We had two investigators at church which was rad!! I was way happy! Plus we had an Less active who hasn't been to church for years show up that we have been working with! So it was a good sunday! One of our more solid investigators RJ  he came to church, and he's pretty golden! He struggles with reading and praying though, but he really like us missionaries and he likes our bishop a lot so it's good! And last night we had a super spiritual lesson with him and we set a date of November 16th for him to work on which is great!! I'm pretty excited!! Then our less active who showed up to church is Sister W she is cool, but she said she came for us.. which is the wrong reason, but at least she was there!! But I'm doing great, and I can't believe how fast this mission is flying by!! Love ya Ty

Me and the Jones Boys!!!!!

The YSA sisters had a baptism in a river over the weekend!!!! It was cool but way cold!!!
In the country side! The leaves are just starting to change this week I will take lots of pictures!!

Three months this week!!!! Crazy! I feel like it's been one giant roller coaster, because you have so many ups and downs as a missionary!!! But one giant up we finally had was that the Jones boys were baptized!!!! It was awesome!! We had to wait to baptize them until the dad brother Jones got out of jail or we were able to contact him in jail to ask for his permission so I wrote him on Wednesday and asked to baptize his sons and asked him to write back, but right after I sent the letter there mom sister Jones called me and said that he got out of jail this morning and that we could call him to ask him if we could, and we did and he said yes!! So on Saturday night the Jones boys were baptized!!! I baptized the younger one who is 8 and his name is Tershon!! He is awesome, but at the same time he can be super hard to handle.. He kept telling me that he was going to baptize me after haha but he took it serious and I was grateful for that!! But It was an awesome experience!! I was so happy for them and the spirit was so strong for me!! Now that the Jones are baptized we don't have like any investigators now.. which is no good. We are going to have to work super hard to find some investigators, but I think our game plan for rest of the transfer will be less actives and getting them to be active!! Which is awesome too! We had 2 less actives show up to church on Sunday which was great!! Fall hit Tennessee! And is cold to say the least the air is just way different than back home! But I'm doing great as always! Love Elder Jaros

Monterey!!
Fried apple pies!! the best thing on the planet!! No lie

Me and DQ..  we had an awful day so I need some dq

This last week was long!! But okay! I spend a few days up in Monterey with my friend Elder V from the MTC! It was a blast to be always from my area for a few days! Monterey is like the size of Minersville so the work is slow, but there are some great people there! We had zone meeting this week and it was pretty good!! I like the zone leader trainings, but not really the sister training leaders they don't know what they are doing.. They just waste time. The Jones boys are doing great and came to church again!! But we have to get the OK from there dad who is in jail to baptize them so i'm going to have to write him today and ask for his permission. So hopefully he said yes!! It's an awful family situation to say the least, but I love those kids to death! The transfer is half way over so that's a plus!! I'm doing great as always, but I do wish I could of been at the wedding!! But I'm so happy for Bret and Al!! Love Elder J-rose!

Tyler and his missionary friends.

Tyler begged/prayed for a washer/dryer and he got it, Elder Jarvis doesn't get water on his mission for only 1 day out of every 5, so we should feel grateful for what we got.

Tyler at Tennessee Tech Track.
Last week was slow!! But so great because of conference!! I loved every talk so much and I don't think I've ever pay so much attention to anything in my whole life. The Jones family went out of town for the week so no baptism for a little, but sometime soon! We only have like one investigator right now which is rough.. but hopefully soon we can meet some new people! We need the members help! The two themes I picked up on at Conference were Missionary work on Saturday and Marriage on Sunday!! Which is cool because Bret is getting married! My highlights from conference were; 80,333 missionaries! One of those are me! I like Dube talk on always looking forward! And that's something I need to do! Elder Bednar layed down the law about tithing!! Elder Ballard hit hard about missionary work, Eyring in the priesthood and Uchtdorf was awesome!! I like the prophets about his wife and stuff that one was cool! Ochoa always look up was cool!! Conference was just special and it was great experience to be a missionary listening to conference!! I'm doing good! Thanks for the love a support! Love Ya elder ty

Self-Portrait

Tennessee Countryside
This week was pretty normal for missionary work!! Nothing too cool, but we did have the kids at church again and we will baptize them soon ether this or next weekend which is rad! Yesterday I had the most spiritual experience at church! I went to YSA to bless the sacrament there were only 4 YSA students there which was weird for me, but the spirit was so much stronger down at YSA.  I got to give my testimony which was so nice. I went up at the last part and just cried like a little girl.I guess I have the Marshall crying issue.. haha but I just talked about how much my life has changed in the last 6 months and how I always had my heavenly father to turn too! I also talked about how great my family is and how grateful I am for them in my life, and the love and support you guys send. I got 8 letter this week which was so awesome. I'm so blessed to have such a great support system, and I love it. But if you write me I will always write back. But I'm doing great! Just trying to work harder as a Missionary. Love Elder Tyler James

Service Project Day
2 months down!! Wow! I can't believe it! It's been a fast two months in my eyes! Hopefully it keeps it up! Transfer came and pasted. Nothing happened to me or my comp which is okay I guess! My area is  awesome so I'm glad I'm staying here. I will just have to learn how to be more Christ like with my comp in these next 6 weeks! The trainer trainee meeting was awesome! The mission president kind of got mad at all the trainers which was funny. It was a super long meeting although! Yesterday after 6 hard weeks of trying to get the Jones kids to church they came!!!! It was so awesome!! They are the craziest kids, but fun to have a church! I was so happy! Sense they came to church we will be dunking (aka baptizing) them soon! Maybe this weekend with sisters other 3 baptism!! The sisters do work with the YSA's and they get about two baptism a month which is cool! We had exchanges this week which was fun! I got to spend a day with my district leader Elder Allen! He's really cool, and he taught me almost more than my trainer ever teaches me haha! We also had a really good service project on Saturday! We help the senior citizens in this letter town east of us! It's was great day beside it rained for like 8 hours haha! But I got my package from Randy! Thank you guys! And I got a package from Keely! Thanks for the love an support! I couldn't do it with out you all. or in the south Y'all. haha Love ya and have  a great week!

Elder Tyler James!
