Franklin Zone powerhour leadership!

This past week has been crazy!! I'm going to start off and talk about the miracle of Don! We been teaching him a lot this month so far, and has been going great. We used soo many members in our ward, and he hits it off with all of them. The ward loves him. This past week we taught him the plan of salvation with a member at his house, and it was great. He's progressing so well! He asked some great questions that we were able to address. We also met with him at the church on Saturday with another member and taught all about the power of prayer, and that went great! He came to all three hours of church, and the members sit with him, and take him to the classes!! It's truly amazing. He wants to read the Book of Mormon all the way through before baptism, but he's already up to Jacob!! We are hoping for the first or second weekend of December for baptism! He's like the highlight of our weeks usually. We have been doing lots of finding over the past week, and it's been okay.. Franklin is still hard to find in, but we found some people. I also received a new comp this week. His name is Elder Allen. He's from somewhere in the Salt Lake valley. Very smart elder! It should be a good transfer!! He's been out for a year, so we are about the same time frame. Last week we had to go on exchanges as well because of the crazy Christmas transfer we are having! I can't believe another Thanksgiving is coming up, but it should be a great one! We are eating with a cool family which will be nice. Thanksgiving is great, because we get to look and see all things we are grateful in our lives. It's truly amazing to see all the blessing we have because of the gospel. I'm so grateful for my family this week, and the way the raised me. It's hard to be out in here during holiday, but it makes you grateful for your family. I'm also so very grateful for our savior and his love, and the peace he brings me as I'm out here on this mission. He truly amazing. Thanks so much for everything, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Blake's Baptism
Last week was great! Honestly was of the best weeks of my life. Too start off we had an amazing week in our own area. We hit 6 member presents which was our goals, and we really saw the Ward come and help teach with us to our investigators. The zones member presents increased as well which was need. That alone is a huge be miracle! We had some great lessons. The one that sticks out the most is the one with Don. He's the man. He was able to spend a long time talking to his sisters who is a member back in the mother land of Utah! She told him lots, and helped him lots. He is pumped to keep learning and coming to church. He was sick, and didn't make it yesterday, but I think he's going to be our WHITE CHRISTMAS!!! We also had the opportunity to go out to Linden which is as west as our mission goes. It was a beautiful trip. I loved it! We went through a state park, and checked out some view points on our way. It was a fun trip. We then went out with the Elders over there, and we went and visited one on the coolest investigators families I've ever met. They were so country it was unreal. I haven't been around real southern folk for almost 8 months.. So it was fun to hear the word possum in our small talk!! They had beautiful farm house in the middle of these huge streets which was awesome! Then this weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to go back to Lebanon for a baptism. It was great. It was for Blake one of Amanda's step kids. That family is amazing! It was sooooo great to see them. It was like coming home. I was asked to speak on the Holy Ghost at the baptism which was great. It was unbelievable how much they have grown in the gospel sense I left. Jesslyn spoke at the baptism and she did so well. The experience brought me so much joy. I feel like it was slight little look at what heaven will be like. It was truly one of the best experience to see them. It remind me of a quote I read this week which said: "You can count the number of seeds in a single apple, but you can’t count the number of apples in a single seed." Which is so cool with there family we shared a little seed, and they grew it so much. They do so much member missionaries work it's unreal. I left that night so grateful and still am for my mission. I've been thinking about where would they be with out the gospel. I have no clue. Missions are wonderful, and I'm so grateful for mine. This work is the most important, and I'm very grateful I'm out here serving the lord. There is no place I'd rather be. I also received exciting news that I will be staying the area, but I'm loosing Elder Smith. I now will be training a new zone leader which will be fun, but I do have to say I'm very nervous. I don't know very Franklin very well, but like one of my favorite quotes says 'there is no growth in the comfort zone, and no comfort in the growing zone." Thanks so much for the everything! This week flew right on by! The weeks keep getting shorter. We started out week of with MLC!! Such a great meeting. We learned a lot about how we can improve our teaching skills. It was great. That meeting is always the best, and we always learn so much. We then had our zone meeting on Thursday which was a quick turn around. Not a lot of time to prepare. Next time we are to put a few more days in between MLC and zone meeting. I trained on FaceBook. I hope it went well! I think I at least helped one sister! We had some really good lessons this week which was a blessing. We first met with Don on Tuesday night. We had a member there, and we had a really good lesson the lesson rolled right up to us setting a date with him for baptism!! We set the date for November 22nd, but most likely it will be December 6th or so. He want to invite his family who are members out in Utah on out to the baptism! He came to church as well. We are scheduled to teach him a lot of topics over the next few weeks, but we are stoked for him. The biggest miracle, and the best for last was that TIM WAS BAPTIZED OVER THE WEEKEND!! It was rad! It took a lot of work this past week. Lots of phone calls, and check ins with him, but he quit smoking, and he was dunked! It was great. He had a member baptized him, and Elder Smith helped him into the font sense he is missing a leg. Over all it was a great experience and a wonderful way to finish of the week! I also learned this week that the church Miley Cyrus was baptized into is right down the straight from my house ha! Hope all is good! Love Elder Jaros

Haunted House

Not a bad week of Halloween! We had some killer lessons last week, and really good numbers! Now we just need a baptism date! Last week started off great with interviews with President Andersen, and a great ward party! Interviews are always a blessing because of the time you get to spend with President! He's such a wise man. The big thing for this interview cycle was setting goals, and figuring out what your next step is at a missionary.. Very good topic. We had a good chat, and I think I'm going to work on being more diligent and teaching skills. President Andersen is the man though. I have no clue how he does it all! Our Ward party was fun! They went all out. The building was decorated from ceiling down. They even did a haunted house! Never been to such a fun ward party! We met some way cool new people this week Sarah and DD! Sarah is dating a less active member, and she went to "Meet the Mormons" with him and loved it. We knocked at her house, and she let us come in and teach her a lot. Her less active boy friend is golden as well. Then DD is new to me. She has been taught for a little while, but we were able to bring over two awesome sisters from our Ward, and have an awesome lesson with her. She is very into her church, but she is very interested in ours. Her granddaughter calls the temple her castle! Too cute. This week should be better we have lots of set appointments that we can get members too hopefully, and work on getting a baptism. Plus we have MLC tomorrow high is always a treat, and it's just up the road in Nashville only like a 10 minute drive compared to the over and hour drive from Clarksville! Life is good!

Hope all is good back in Utah! Love Elder Jaros
